Cluster
Companies and institutes in the Bremen-Oldenburg Metropolitan Region in the northwest of Germany play a leading role in wind energy technology, both nationally and internationally.

A specific strategic development programme – the ‘Northwest German Wind Energy Cluster’ – plans to increase the region’s international competitiveness. germanwind has been selected as one of ten finalists for the final round of the 2009 Cluster of Excellence competition of the Federal Government.

More than 100 companies and institutes are involved in germanwind. They have developed specific research and development projects that they will implement to improve and optimise the use of wind energy as part of the germanwind programme.
 

Region
The region around Bremen and Oldenburg has been a pioneering region for the development of wind energy in Germany for the last two decades. The wind energy industry here is experiencing dynamic growth.
